Andrew Hunter

Andrew Hunter is one of Melbourne’s most respected and accomplished choral directors. He began his musical studies at the age of 6 when he was accepted into Australian Boys’ Choir, and has been singing in and directing choirs ever since. He studied pianoforte with Donald Thornton at the University of Melbourne where he completed his Bachelor degree with honours in piano performance and music education.

He taught for a number of years at the Australian Boys’ Choral Institute where he directed the institute’s Senior Singers and was accompanist to the choir. As a singer, he has toured nationally and internationally with several choral ensembles.

Andrew is the founder and has for 18 years been the Artistic Director of Concordis Chamber Choir, one of Australia’s most highly regarded young adult choirs. Concordis are multiple winners of the Australian National Eisteddfod and were also the inaugural ABC Victorian Choir of the Year. The choir is frequently broadcast on ABC Classic FM and 3MBS Radio and regularly perform with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra in addition to maintaining their own concert series.

Concordis is also passionate in its support of Australian choral music and regularly commissions and premieres new works by young Australian composers.

Andrew has for the past 17 years been Deputy Director of Music and Head of Choral Studies at Scotch College Melbourne where, under his direction the auditioned choral programs have grown to involve more than 300 boys. A large number of these students also take individual voice tuition in theschools flourishing vocal program. He is a past Vice president of the Australian National Choral Association (Vic) and is a regular adjudicator and clinician at eisteddfods, choral workshops and masterclasses.

Daniel Brinsmead

Daniel Brinsmead (b. 1988) is a graduate of the School of Music at the Australian National University where he received a Bachelor of Music with Honours for performance studies in Classical Voice. His choral compositions and arrangements have been performed by school, university, community and professional choirs in the United States, United Kingdom and Australia.

He was selected as 1 of 8 winners from 918 worldwide entries to record his composition Come Sleep for the Abbey Road Anthem Competition in 2011 to celebrate the studio’s 80th anniversary. This recording was conducted and performed by Eric Whitacre and his singers. Since then he has been featured as the composer-in-residence at Border Music Camp and has been invited to conduct his music across Australia.

Daniel has been the choir master of several choirs in Canberra, Australia, a singing and piano tutor, baritone soloist, accompanist, composer, arranger and orchestrator. He holds a Master of Music majoring in choral conducting from the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, (2016).

Jason Ha

Jason Ha is the accompanist for Concordis Chamber Choir. Beginning his pianoforte studies at the age of 5, he completed his AMusA in 2007 and LMusA in 2008. In 2009 he also completed his AMusA on the violin. Jason has also won numerous prizes in the Dandenong, Boroondara, Manningham, Mordialloc and Waverley eisteddfods.

Jason enjoys taking part in various choral and orchestral endeavours. He first joined Concordis Chamber Choir in 2013 as a baritone, and has also performed with the Pro Musica Orchestra, Monash Academy Orchestra, Old Scotch Symphony Orchestra, and the Monash Medical Orchestra. He is currently studying medicine at Monash University.
